Re-Tee helps make golf more accessible to underrepresented youth by giving donated golf equipment a second life.
As a student-led, non-profit organization, our goal is to increase golf's accessibility for underserved youth by providing the equipment they need to experience the game.
At just 15 years old, Joshua Passero has already developed a deep passion for golf and a strong desire to give back to his community.
Joshua recognizes that getting started in golf can be expensive. With the growing costs of youth sports, equipment, memberships, lessons, and other expenses, many families face financial barriers that can make participating in the sport difficult.
Joshua also noticed something else: golfers frequently replace their clubs and equipment to keep up with the latest technology, even when their existing equipment is still in excellent, playable condition. He saw an opportunity to give that equipment a second life—and, more importantly, to give youth the opportunity to discover the game he loves.
Through Re-Tee, Joshua is partnering with golf courses and members of the golf community to collect quality, gently used golf equipment and get it into the hands of underserved youth. The goal is simple: remove barriers and give more youth the opportunity to experience, learn, and enjoy the game of golf.
Joshua, a Grade 11 student, believes that golf fosters lifelong skills, character development, and mental wellness. Whether a young golfer hopes to pursue golf competitively or simply wants to learn a new game, Joshua believes that cost should never be the reason they can't pick up a club and take their first shot.
What started with Joshua's passion for golf has grown into a mission to help make the game more accessible—one club, one young golfer, and one opportunity at a time.
